The Manhattan Beach Youth Council will soon be recruiting high school students for next year’s program, which begins next September 2024 and runs through April 2025.
Applications will be available starting March 23rd and will run until 80 applications are received or through March 31st. Since this is a very selective program, we do a rigorous candidate review process, including the written application plus an in-person interview. Interviews will take place on Saturday, April 20th and Thursday, April 25th. Applicants will receive an email after Spring Break with instructions on how to sign up for their interview. The new class will be notified at the beginning of May.
Before applying, please consider that all students who are accepted must be willing to FULLY commit to this program. We do allow 1 absence due to a conflict, otherwise you risk being asked to leave the program and will not receive credit on our website or a certificate of completion. Volunteers and speakers put a lot of time into this program, and we don’t like to have empty seats at our workshops. It is recommended that students who participate in multiple season or year-long activities (sports, visual or performing arts, etc) with no flexibility from the coach or teacher pass on considering this program.
Workshops will meet on Wednesdays from 5:45-8:00pm once a month from September through April. Exact workshop dates will be posted shortly on our website.
