The Manhattan Beach Youth Council will soon be recruiting high school students for next year’s program, which begins next September 2026 and runs through April 2027.

Applications will be available starting April 13th at 3pm and will be accepted until 90 applications are received or through April 17th. Because this is a highly selective program, we conduct a thorough review process that includes the written application and, if chosen, an in-person interview. Interviews will be held on Saturday, May 2nd, and Thursday, May 7th. Applicants will be notified via email if they are selected for an interview and will be asked to sign up for a time slot as soon as possible. The new class will be notified at the beginning of June.

Before applying, please consider that all students who are accepted must be willing to FULLY commit to this program. We do allow 1 absence due to a conflict, otherwise you risk being asked to leave the program and will not receive credit on our website or a certificate of completion.  Volunteers and speakers put a lot of time into this program, and we don’t like to have empty seats at our workshops. It is recommended that students who participate in multiple season or year-long activities (sports, visual or performing arts, etc) with no flexibility from the coach or teacher pass on considering this program.
