The Manhattan Beach Youth Council will soon be recruiting high school students for next year’s program, which begins next September 2025 and runs through April 2026.
Applications will be available starting April 4th and will run until 80 applications are received or through April 11th. Since this is a very selective program, we do a rigorous candidate review process, including the written application plus an in-person interview. Interviews will take place on Saturday, May 17th and Wednesday, May 21st. Applicants will receive an email at the end of April/early May with instructions on how to sign up for their interview. The new class will be notified at the beginning of June.
Before applying, please consider that all students who are accepted must be willing to FULLY commit to this program. We do allow 1 absence due to a conflict, otherwise you risk being asked to leave the program and will not receive credit on our website or a certificate of completion. Volunteers and speakers put a lot of time into this program, and we don’t like to have empty seats at our workshops. It is recommended that students who participate in multiple season or year-long activities (sports, visual or performing arts, etc) with no flexibility from the coach or teacher pass on considering this program.
Workshops will meet on Wednesdays from 5:45-8:00 PM once a month from September through April. Exact workshop dates will be posted shortly on our website.
