About Manhattan Beach Youth Council
The Manhattan Beach Youth Council (MBYC) is under the MBX umbrella and is a professional development program for sophomore, junior, and senior high school students who live or attend high school in the city of Manhattan Beach. This is a one-year program and we will not accept repeat students.
The mission of MBYC is to expose young adults to a variety of careers and professions, and to inspire students to pursue their interests.
Each monthly workshop focuses on a different career arena and includes guest speakers who share their professional and personal journeys, lend sage advice, and share words of wisdom.
Group workshops challenge students to apply what they learn from speakers toward solving real challenges and creating breakthroughs.
Career topics continue to expand and include law, healthcare, arts and entertainment, architecture, engineering and design, finance, civic and public service, non-profit service, media and news, technology, entrepreneurship, aerospace, and more.
