Law and the Judicial System

In broad terms, lawyers represent people or organizations (i.e., their clients) in legal, personal and business matters of every type.  Some lawyers go to court for their clients, others research and craft documents, and others negotiate on behalf of their clients. Law infiltrates almost every aspect of our lives and as such, a lawyer’s career can involve any of those aspects.  For instance, real estate transactions, divorces, inventions, new laws and regulations in any industry, and so on. From courtroom litigation, criminal justice, criminal defense, public defender to tax attorney to environmental protection counsel, the law and its lawyers are ubiquitous among society.  In this workshop we either introduce you to a panel of lawyers practicing diverse types of law, or we involve you in a mock trial where each student has a role, such as plaintiff, defendant, witness, jury and judge.
