Applications for the 2023-24 class of Manhattan Beach Youth Council Students opened on March 25th but are now closed. Please mark your calendars for next year if you missed the deadline. This year we will accept up to 80 applications in order to select 45 students. Since this is a very selective program, we do a rigorous candidate review process, including the written application plus an in-person interview.
Once you have submitted an application, you will be hearing from us shortly, via E-Mail, to schedule an interview.
Moving forward, please consider that all students who are accepted must be willing to FULLY commit to this program. We do allow 1 absence due to a conflict, otherwise you risk being asked to leave the program and will not receive credit on our website or a certificate of completion. Volunteers and speakers put a lot of time into this program, and we don’t like to have empty seats at our workshops. It is recommended that students who participate in multiple season or year-long activities (sports, visual or performing arts, etc) with no flexibility from the coach or teacher pass on considering this program.
Workshops will meet on Wednesdays from 5:45-8:00pm once a month from September through April. Exact workshop dates will be posted shortly on our website. Interviews will be conducted in person on April 22nd from 9am – 2pm and April 26th from 5pm – 8pm. Sign up and details to come via email by April 10.
