Workshop #4 – Architecture & Design

It’s not every day you get to jump inside the creative minds of an Architect and an Interior Designer. They see things differently. Architects understand the engineering structure of a space, and some, like James Meyer, Principal of JRM/A, dig into every detail of how the building becomes something more. All of this starts with a parcel of land or an outdated existing structure. How do they manage to bring it all together? From the views, the materials, nature, privacy, structural integrity, and code compliance, there are a lot of factors to consider.

Interior Designers create the interior atmospheres to complement the architectural palette. They often work collaboratively with architects to secure a synthesis of beauty and function and some, like Andrika King, are known for curating unique spaces that enhance everyday life. In this workshop, we will sit down with James and Andrika to learn more about their trades, the challenges they face, and how and why they got started in the first place.
