There is a good chance the world is less safe now than ever before. Military enemies are no longer identifiable. Governments are shifting. From Arab Spring to Occupy Wall Street, events go viral in seconds. How does a society balance safety, peaceable assembly, and politics? In this context, civic and military service perhaps have never been more important. The police and military share extensive physical and tactical training and are, in many ways, required to be business operators and diplomats. But what happens in the heat of a crisis? How do leaders react? This is what we will explore at this workshop.
