Laurie James has been a resident in Manhattan Beach for 27 years. After graduating college with a B.S. in Business, she worked in sales before transitioning to corporate recruiting. She stayed home to raise her four daughters for twenty years and has given back to her community through a wide range of volunteer positions within the community and MBUSD. She was a docent for Growing Great, Grades of Green, and was on the board of the MBMS PTA. She supports 1736 Family Crisis Centers, South Bay Families Connected, and previously was the Co-Chair of the Manhattan Beach Youth Council. She is also writing her first book and starting a new business that supports women transitioning through divorce.
