In 2007 Zislis opened Mucho Ultima Mexicana, which immediately became the South Bay’s premier Mexican restaurant and hottest lounge scene. Preserving the rich tradition of the Mexican dinner table with fresh, handmade ingredients, the place comes alive at night with soulful house mixes by guest DJs, live music, and specialty & favorite bar cocktails.
Michael Zislis is a serial entrepreneur, restaurateur, hotelier and philanthropist, who has captivated consumers with his wide-ranging portfolio of well-loved and highly successful hotel and restaurant concepts. He is the owner of the Zislis Group, and has opened numerous businesses including the Manhattan Beach Brewing Company, Rock’N Fish, Rock & Brews, Chingon Kitchen, Buzzrock Brewery, The Strand House and the Shade Hotels which have received many accolades from Condé Nast Traveler and TripAdvisor. His greatest passion lies in his philanthropic endeavors where he helps raise significant funds and awareness for health, education and environmental causes. To that end, he serves on the foundation board of Torrance Memorial Medical Center, and is an active supporter of Walk with Sally, Growing Great, and several education foundations. “Success means nothing if it is not shared with others who are less fortunate,” says Michael. “I am grateful that my successes have afforded me the opportunity to do so.”
